By using Universal Remote for TV ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information responsibly.

1. Information We Collect

  • Device information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and general diagnostic information.
  • Usage information, such as feature interactions, app performance data, analytics events, and crash logs.
  • Purchase information related to Apple In-App Purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions, such as product type, subscription status, and purchase confirmation.
  • Photos, videos, or audio files that you choose to access or select when using casting or media-related features.
  • Local network and nearby-device information necessary to discover, connect to, and communicate with compatible TVs or media devices on the same network.
  • Microphone input and speech-related data when you use voice control or speech recognition features.
  • Support information that you voluntarily provide when contacting us by email.

2. Permissions We Request

To provide core features, the App may request the following permissions:

  • Photo Library: to allow you to select photos, videos, or other supported media for casting or playback.
  • Local Network: to discover and communicate with TVs and compatible devices connected to the same Wi-Fi or local network.
  • Microphone: to enable voice commands, voice control, and speech recognition features.

You may deny or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. If you do so, some features of the App may not function properly.

3. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • To provide remote control, device discovery, casting, playback, and voice-related features.
  • To operate, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot the App.
  • To monitor app stability, diagnose crashes, and analyze usage trends.
  • To verify, activate, restore, and manage in-app purchases and subscriptions.
  • To respond to support requests and user inquiries.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

4. Media Access and Casting Content

If you choose to use casting or media-related features, the App may access photos, videos, and audio files that you select from your device. This access is used solely to provide user-initiated casting, transmission, playback, or related media functions.

We do not sell your selected media content. We do not access your photos, videos, or audio unless you grant permission and choose to use these features.

Media content selected by you may be temporarily processed as needed to enable casting or playback on compatible devices.

5. Voice Recognition and Audio Use

If you use voice control or speech recognition features, the App may access microphone input to process spoken commands and provide voice-related functionality. Microphone access is used only when required for these features and only after you grant permission.

6. Firebase

We use Firebase, a service provided by Google, to support analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, and related app functionality. Firebase may collect certain device identifiers, usage data, and diagnostic information in accordance with Google's policies.

7. In-App Purchases and Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

The App may offer premium features through in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions via Apple's App Store. Payments are processed by Apple, not by us directly. We do not collect or store your full payment card or billing information.

We may receive limited transaction information from Apple, such as purchase confirmation, product identifier, and subscription status, in order to activate, manage, and restore premium access.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled in your Apple ID account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies.

8. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers such as Firebase, solely to help us operate, analyze, and improve the App.
  • When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • To protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or our services.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable legal requirements.

9. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

10. International Users

The App is intended for users in multiple countries and regions. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed outside your country of residence, subject to applicable legal safeguards where required.

Depending on your location, you may have certain privacy rights under applicable law, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing.
